For the past 20 some years my Father and my 2 brothers(Dave and Doug) and I have played in the Montaup CC Fathers day Tournamet. It is something very special to us with my Dad in his 70's and the 3 boys in there 40's, we look forward to it every year. Sometimes it has been difficult for the 4 of us to get together with my older brother Dave in the Coast Guard, He has made the trip back to Massachusetts a number of times from different location, Savannah Ga., Cape May, NJ and this year from Hawaii. The times that Dave has not made it my son Tyler has stepped in to play, which is very special to me as well.
Where we grew up it was hockey at Marsh and baseball at the little league field, both were only a few hundred yards from the house, golf was not as popular at the time but as we have gotten older it has become the main sport.
It is our ritual to play in the Fathers Day Tournament and then go into the club house and have something to eat while watching the rest of the US Open. There have been many memorable moments to the end of the US Open, Tigers put on 18, Corey Pavin's 3 wood and unfortunatly Phil's meltdown. It is a day that we will always treasure.
I like to play the Pro V1x I like the control it gives me and feel I get with the putter. While my father playes the Pro V1. My brothers who don't play as much will play the Pro V's if they can find one.
