First experience with Titleist

My 1st experience with Titleist golf balls was when I was a 14 yr. old kid,
just learning the game. An ex-professional golfer, who had a golf repair and
hobby shop asked me if I'd like to learn how to play golf when I visited his
shop. He equipped me with a Sunday bag, and threw in a bunch of clubs he had
lying around his shop. He also opened a 3 pack of new balls and put them in
the pocket with some tees, and off we went to the Highland Park Golf course,
near Cleveland, OH. (Cleveland Open has been held there in the past)

At this point, I'd never swung a golf club on a golf course, only a couple
times at a driving range. I had no clue about anything, but "Gene" gave me
instruction as we went along.

At one point, I'd hit my ball out of the fairway, and we were looking for it
and he asked me what ball I was playing. As a 14 year old who'd never had
exposure to golf, I told him I was playing a "tit-least" #4. Gene started laughing
uncontrolably and when he finally got control of himself, he told me
"it's 'title-ist' ... you stoop!" Guess I was just going by the pronunciation
techniques I'd learned in school.

That was my first experience of learning about Titleist golf balls, and I've been
playing them over the last (ahhh) "many" years (more than 30!). BTW, my score for my 1st round of 18 holes on a full sized championship golf course was 135.

Hope you enjoyed my story.
