My sister was diagnosed with a brain tumor in January 2007.
Her husband and father of her then 16 year old son had died just 2 months prior at the age of 55.
Kathy had just turned 52. We were devastated at this recent news and were told that there was no other remedy besides brain surgery and soon.
We were not give a lot of cheery news regarding a.survival and
b. if she survived, the lasting side effects.
But there was no choice and into a 12 hour surgery she went April 11.
By the Grace of God she survived and with few side-effects. She had taken a 4 month leave of absence from work. After 2 months of recovery light exercise was recommended. This was my chance.
"Kathy learn how to play golf, and we can play together"
So after a few lessons, (not from me) we were out on the course every Sunday afternoon. We hadn't had such fun times in years. With all the tragedy that had loomed when we hit the golf course, it seemed to melt away. Lots of laughs, lots of beautiful summer & fall days on the course. Her birthday came around in September and I gave her my new Titleist Driver. It's still in her bag, she hits it well!
p.s This last June 5, 2010 Kathy was married.........to a PGA Golf Pro!!!!
