Stardate 15th of April 2010 :-)
Day off so thought let's get a round in, kicked off double bogey, bogey, birdie when I came to Par3 4th. I reckoned it was about 155 from the tee position so though 7 iron, couple of practice swings then teed up my NXT Tour, took my line & swung through it. As soon as I hit it I knew it was sweet, my eyes never left it, "oohh" I thought "that's gonna be close" I watched as it dropped about 10 feet from the pin, it released perfectly and rolled off towards the hole, I was on the tee like a horse jockey using a whip, closer, closer then pop! It dropped in! BRILLIANT, I stood there alla Sam Torrance at the Bellfry all those years ago, arms aloft, my 1st, yes my 1st EVER hole in one! Then reality struck, my heart sank. I was playing myself, not another soul around, "NO, NO, NO" I felt physically sick, my moment in the sun, my dream moment AND no one, no one dog walking, no green keepers, not a living soul! If I had duffed it the world & there dog would have been there! NO, I felt like a Red Sox fan in New York, you know everytime I close my eyes I see it, clear as a bell :-) Hopefully it will miss :-(
