Titleist golf ball loyalists Paul Goydos (Pro V1) and Bernhard Langer (Pro V1)  were the big winners this weekend at the PGA Tour Champions’ season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Scottsdale.

Goydos completed a wire-to-wire victory in the tournament, and Langer finished 2nd to win his third straight season points title and fourth overall.

Goydos, who also won the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open in July, closed with a 4-under-par 66 on the Cochise Course at Desert Mountain en route to a 15-under-par 195 victory total.

He opened with an 8-under-par 62 and took a two-stroke lead into the final round.

"You start out and, really, the best place you could be is way ahead,” said Goydos, who started the day four shots clear of Langer. "The guy (Langer) is a superhero. I don't get it. I mean, he's getting better. It's his best year and he's 59. He's amazing."

Langer posted a final round 6-under-par 64 in the payoff event finale to finish two shots back.

Langer won the $1 million annuity as the Charles Schwab Cup season champion and topped the tour with four victories. His worse finish this season, in 21 events played, was tied for 13th.

"It's incredible," Langer said. "Finishing all the tournaments throughout the year in the top 13, it's extremely tough to do. So it's difficult to put it all into words, how consistent it's been, how good it's been, but very blessed, very fortunate."

The win was the 23rd for Titleist golf ball loyalists on the season, more than 11 times the nearest competitor with two.
