Goydos and Sauers Finish 1-2 at 3M Championship

It was an all-Pro V1 playoff at the 3M Championship, where Titleist golf ball loyalist Paul Goydos topped Gene Sauers with a par on the first extra hole.

Both players closed with 6-under-par 66’s to finish regulation at 20-under 196.

Goydos fired a tournament-record 60 on Saturday to claw into contention. Not unfamiliar territory for Goydos, who shot 59 at the 2010 John Deere Classic.

For his part, Sauers set a PGA Tour Champions record by hitting a remarkable 53 of 54 greens in regulation at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn.

Titleist Brand Ambassador Steve Stricker (Pro V1x) and Titleist golf ball loyalist Kevin Sutherland (Pro V1x) were among three players who tied for third, two shots back.

Eight of the top 10 finishers at the 3M Championship relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

Goydos’ victory marks his first of the season and fifth of his career.

Congratulations, Paul!
