Titleist golf ball loyalist Martin Piller (Pro V1) topped a leaderboard packed with Titleist golf ball players, earning a one-shot win over Brandon Harkins (Pro V1x) at the Ellie Mae Classic in California.
Piller closed with a 6-under-par 64 at TPC Stonebrae en route to an 18-under-par 262 victory total.
“That was intense,” Piller said after the win. “Brandon played really good, I mean really good. He didn’t really make a mistake all day. But, man, it’s incredible. There are a lot of emotions right now, and I’m just proud.”
Titleist players occupied each of the top 10 positions on the leaderboard, including Vince Covello (Pro V1x), Nate Lashey (Pro V1x) and Titleist Brand Ambassador Andrew Yun (Pro V1x), all of whom tied for third place, two shots behind Harkins.
With the win, Piller jumps up to No. 24 on the Web.com Tour money list. In addition to locking up a spot in the Web.com Tour Finals, it allows Piller to join his wife and fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist, Gerina Piller (Pro V1x), at the Solheim Cup in two weeks, where she’ll participate for the United States team for the third time in the biennial competition. In the 2015 Solheim Cup, it was Gerina who holed the winning putt for the United States team in Germany.
Congratulations, Martin!
