After more than three years of designing, developing and enhancing technologies, our golf club R&D team recently made the trip to Congressional Country Club to test the latest Titleist 917 driver prototypes with some of the world’s best golfers on the PGA TOUR.
“This is a week we always look forward to,” said Chris Tuten, director of player promotions for Titleist. “New drivers. We’re ready to roll.”
And from first thing Monday morning until the end of the practice rounds on Wednesday, it was non-stop action for the team as they worked closely with players to get dialed-in with the new drivers.
“One of the great parts of being able to come to the tour and work with the players here directly is the amount of time we’re able to spend with them,” added Stephanie Luttrell, director of metalwoods for Titleist.
Player testing is an essential step in the product development process as the feedback received along the way helps the team evolve the product along every step of the prototype phase. Ultimately, this ensures that before any club hits the shelves the very best golfers have validated its performance.
So join us for an exclusive, inside look at all of the action from inside the Tour Van and inside the ropes as the new Titleist 917 prototype drivers were put through their paces at the Tour Launch.
