Hi,
I've read on some sites that the 712u utility irons will be available as a custom order from May 2013. Can this be confirmed?
regards
Bill

Hi David
I just received my new 712U 2 iron with a project x 6.5.
I currently play with 712 mb irons with the same shaft and I am struggling to feel the weight in the driving iron in comparison to my regular blades..
Im not sure if its in my head but it feels like I am swinging a match stick.
Any comment would be greatly appreciated on how to fix this problem, whether it be lead tape or an x100 shaft.
Steve
Hi Steve,
I'm going to run your question by the Club team and get back to you with an answer. There are some steps we can take to increase the weight in the head- however I don't want to go down that path if it means changing the overall weight and swingweight of the club. Might be easier to look at other shaft options instead.
I'll be back to you shortly.

Hello David
I've just been fitted for my new AP2s as well as the 712U in place of the 3 iron, XP95 R300 was is my choice of shaft, would you be so kind and ask if this could also be an issue for me as well, if so, I change the order before they are completed.
Thanking you in advance
Paul
Hi Paul,
Unfortunately it's impossible to tell before you receive the clubs, however if you've been fit for a full set of irons they will be built to the same specifications in terms of weight and swingweight, so it's unlikely to be an issue.
I've spoken with our club experts and there's a couple of things we can do. We can fit a tip weight into the shaft to increase the swingweight of the club and/or add some lead tape to the back of the club.
Changing the shaft to a softer flex will also add some feel to the head. We often hear of players with extra stiff shafts that lose clubhead feel because they find it hard to 'load' the shaft with their swing speed.
If you decide to send the club back to us to be re weighted, can you also include a note with the length and swingweight of your MB irons so we have something to work off for comparison.
