I am considering adding a couple of new woods this year, I currently play the 910D3 9.5 degree, and I have both the 909F3 and the 909F2 along with a coulple of 909H hybrids I use interchangably with my 3 & 4 iron. I am thinking of adding the 910 F or the 910 Fd what can people tell me about the two options other than the standard line that one is better off the tee box, also which one is more like the F3?

    Frank,

Aside from telling you the obvious that the 910FD is better off the tee, I can also add the FD is a much bigger head than the F.  It has a different feel and sound that any other Titleist Fairway I've hit.

What are you looking for in a 3 wood?

I have the FD because I want something I can hit off the tee on shorter holes.  It is literally like a mini driver for me!  It's the best 3 wood I have hit, great shape, great feel and long!

That being said the F is also a great choice, smaller, easier to hit off the deck, but for me didn't have the look I wanted.

Really the best thing to do is hit them both and then decided.  They are two different animals really.

    Hope that helps a bit.

Most people go towards the 910F because it is easier to hit off the ground and still has a deep enough face for tee shots. If you are a high spin/high launch player you may be more suited towards the 910FD. Like Brad I play the FD because I find it sets up a lot cleaner off the tee and gives me the spin reduction I am looking for in a fairway wood.

I currently play the 910FD 13.5* at D1 with Rombax Pro95X and launch the ball on average between 9.7*-10.3* and the spin rate is in the 3500 range.

Best thing I would suggest is find out where a fitting is going to be and sign up so you have a chance to hit the different heads with different shafts. If you need help finding a fitting in your area i'm sure Mitch or anyone at Titleist would be able to help you.

Thanks guys, when I was at the course yesterday I noticed the 910 F 15 demo was available, it has the same Ahina stiff shaft that is in my 910 D3, so I took it out on the course for a try. I set the club the same as my Driver which is C1. My thought is the ball flys low in comparion to my 909F3 13 which really made no sense. I hit it average length, but I think the lack of launch angle is shortening it up. Off the tee in the summer I can get my 909F3 13 out there 270+ with roll out, and my 909H 19 can get me about 245 with rollout. both of them have the Aerotech Steel Fibe stiff, so maybe the 910 F in the Ahina is wrong for me.
