    Hello Everyone,

Although I absolutely love my mid-size staff bag, I have found myself walking more and more and would prefer to also pick up a carry back. I would love to hear which your favorite is. I am deciding between the lightweight, sta-dry, and 14 way.

Looking forward to hearing your opinions.

    Thanks,

    Alex

Alas, my shoulders do not allow me to carry. I do prefer to walk and even pushing a cart is detrimental to my game, so I have one of those electronic caddies. It truly is nice as I can walk the course every day, and with the remote control function, I can send my bag up to my ball as I help my buddies search for theirs in the fescue :)

    Hi Alex,

I use two bags throughout the year -- the lightweight staff cart bag and my StaDry carry bag.

I really like my StaDry carry bag. It is waterproof with "seam sealed" water resistant zippers for all of the pockets, and has 5 pockets to accommodate everything from balls, jacket, a sandwich/snacks. my rangefinder, tees, and my valuables.

Furthermore, it has four club pockets that are fully divided. It organizes my clubs nicely and the fully divided pockets helps to minimize "club grip knots" or twisting so that the clubs can more easily go into and out of the bag as needed without lots of fighting to get the clubs back in or having to pull 2-3 clubs out at once!

: In addition, I really love its waterproofness, and with the addition of the Titleist rainproof towel/hood cover, it keeps things fairly dry in inclement weather!

The weight on my bag is about 4.9 - 5.0 lbs which is fairly and relatively light compared to other carry bags. The strap system is excellent too - I really admire that about the Titleist bags -- it makes a very nice comfortable set up for carrying the bag.

In looking at the new catalogue (2015) I see that there is a new version of the StaDry bag that sports one additional pocket and looks terrific. I believe that it is a tad heavier, but has all of the same great features!

All in all, I really like the StaDry because of its great utility as a bag, its versatility to be used as my day to day carry bag or can be thrown onto a cart, and of course, its a bag that looks pleasing and I am proud to carry!

Thanks for the great input Dino. How do you find the rattle/bag chatter with the four way top? That was the one thing I wasnt sure about but I do like that they are full dividers rather than just bag top.

@Darius - glad you still get to walk - those remote control buggies are pretty neat

For me I like the bags with 14 way dividers.  I use a push cart now but at least I'm walking.  The 14way bags are a bit heavier but I wont go back to a bag without them.

    Hi Alex,

Regarding "club chatter", and I am presuming that you are referring to the "clacking" or "clattering" sound of the clubs as you walk down the fairway, it is not too bad at all. I mean there is some clattering as you walk, but it I don't find it too loud or too bothersome. I find that with my driver, fairway wood and my hybrid, that their head covers do a good job of dampening the noise.

Also, the bag seems to fit well for me and is snug enough in all of the right places that the clubs seem well supported and don't clatter too much, unless I start jogging, moving erratically, or moving down an incline, etc.

Further, I prefer to shed the weight of the 14 way carry bag for my StaDry bag as the StaDry offers, imho, more versatility and features that I value. I don't mind playing when it is a bit wet or having to go through a short rain shower!

I grew up golfing as a kid and there is the romantic appeal of walking down the fairway with my bag strapped on my back, clubs clacking away, while ate my sandwich for lunch! In my day, us kids couldn't get on the course in the morning as it was heavily preferred by the adult members of the club! MyStaDry bag does make some "clacking" or club chatter, but it pales in comparison to when I was a kid and is so much more "restrained" and quieter.

I hope this helps Alex! D.

Everything "Dino J" has said in his response is all that needs to said. I think he covers just about everything the "StaDry" bag has to offer. It's my personal favorite and I love how the bag looks.

One small thing I noticed with the "StaDry" is there seems to be no slippage when the bag is being carried on a single shoulder. I've had other bags in the past that would nose dive when walking. The "StaDry" seems to grip your shirt or jacket so everything balances out in a nicer fashion.

Thats good to know as well JM. There are lots of times when I keep my bag on one shoulder only. Well sounds like the Sta-Dry is the bag.

    Thanks

Well Alex...I truly hope that you like the bag and it meets or exceeds your expectations. Let us know how your experience worked out. Eg: where you bought it, how you liked your bag, etc. : - )
