Just in the nick of time, special delivery set of new Vokey SM6's. Heading to Myrtle Beach tomorrow morning and can't wait to hit my new babies.

50 deg F, 54 deg M grind, 60 deg m grind Steel Grey across the board. All with KBS 610 S+ wedges shafts. Got to hit them in Trackman today and wow I am so excited.

I will write back a report for anyone interested in a review of the KBS wedge shafts as I haven't seen too many reviews on the web and certainly not with the new SM6s Wont be long till we open here in Ontario. Cheers Team! James G

Have a great time down in Myrtle Beach !
Looking forward to hearing how the new wedges work for you. The nice thing is that you can encounter a variety of green side grasses and different types of fairways depending on which courses you play. As such you should really get a good chance to test the effectiveness of the different grinds in varying conditions.

    Hi James,

The wedges look fantastic. I too one day will get to travel to Myrtle Beach for golf or at least hope to! :).

I would appreciate your feedback on the wedges too James. I am looking at updating too and I would be curious about how the KBS shafts perform.

In your photo's, it looks like you went with the "raw black" option. Is this correct or are they the grey coloured wedges? Regardless, I would be curious to hear your thought process as to the colour choice and also to the grips that you chose as well.

Play well and look forward to the feedback! D.

Sorry James ... I just realized that you stated that you purchased them in STEEL GREY! I'll chock that up to a "senior moment"! :)

Hey DIno... Don't get to upset with yourself. I find I am getting more and more of those Senior Moments too. I think it has something to do with the weather !

Hahaha Darius! Yes, I find those darn "senior moments" get me from time to time. Lets hope with the warmer weather making its way north to us again, the "senior moments" will decline! :-).

I gotta say I'm a wee bit jealous, James, both that you have your new sm6s and that you're somewhere you can use them. Our pro shop has just opened, so will be ordering up a set very soon, but still probably 3-4 weeks from playing. Hope you have a great time in SC. Looking forward to hearing your review.

I would love to have these in Steel Gray as well, unfortunately that option is not available for lefties, just in the right hand option.

Okay gang, Here's my review of the new wedges......WOW!!!!!! :)

I am very happy with this set up. I will break it down into a couple sections.

As well as I could tell , being in all the different grasses down in Myrtle vs here in Ontario, I felt like my 60 deg performed exactly how I hoped and was most excellent in all kids of lies and the sand. I was worried a bit about touch and feel going to a new shaft, but none , like anyone with new stuff it felt amazing.

Now....for the biggest report, My 54 deg 8 bounce M grind (versus my old TVD 54 deg 10 Bounce. I am ecstatic about this change!!!!
I was able to now use this wedge for longer chips and pitch and runs, and for 60 yds lower flighted shots to pins and even noice off dormant Bermuda rough! Previously for me my 54 M TVS 10 deg bounce was too much and hated using it around the greens and for anything not full swing 107 yds, worried about blading it.
However now with the new M grind and only 8 bounce I have a weapon for more shots. so thrilled. That change in grind for my swing made a world of difference and I couldn't be happier to have more options now, fixing a slight weakness in my game. Thanks VOKE!!

KBS 610 S+ wedge shaft: LOVE THEM!!! Flight for me was still high ( I'm a high hitter anyway) but flew better trajectory and not as bothered by wind. the Gap wedge 50 deg F flew awesome and straight and held line. perfect feel between that at 120 yards and my PW AP2 with KBS tour S+ and the distance 130 yds.
They were a bit lighter than my DG S400s but not much and plenty heavy enough that by 2 rounds in I was fully used to.

Full shots with the 54 and 60 performed the same, holding flight better and felt great even in wind and off many lies. I really recommend the KBS 610 shaft for anyone using KBS shafts or looking for lower flight and better penetration on wedges. Not everyone needs that however the 610 shaft just feels great all around and I was very pleased in all ways.

I have the New decade platinum with one extra wrap for the grip, matching m whole set and it felt super on the shaft, and in my 716 AP2s.

Lastly, the steel grey looks SWEEEEEEET! love looking down at these babies.

Hope this helps, ask questions if I can I will try to answer.

    Cheers Team!

Awesome review. So glad that they worked so well for you. As you noted, I know that dormant bermuda can make it tough to hit chip shots but it sounds like you got a great set of wedges to help fill all the holes.
I trust the weather was good for you down south for your golf holiday.
Hope you have many great years with your new set of scoring clubs !!!
