Why don't we have a Team Titleist Invitational in Canada? I see it's a very popular event in the US, I think it would be equally popular here. It would give us a chance to meet other Team Titleist members and being Titleist, probably give us an opportunity to play a really nice course.

  2. Great idea. Like a September tournament
  3. I’d be in for this. It would be fun!

Mitch would this be a possibility for TT Canada members?

I think that would be awesome. Maybe something out west and something in the east. Great idea

Was thinking 1 big event and something central like St. Andrews Valley or Angus Glen. I'm not sure if there are enough TT members in Canada to warrant 2 events.

But again, that would serve only those in Ontario and parts of Quebec. For a single Canadian TT Invitational event to work, then it needs to be moved around geographically.

I'd be in for a different province each year. A lot of guys like golf trips. BC has some very beautiful courses and I've heard PEI or Nova Scotia also has some really nice courses.

Having been to the TT Invitationals here in the states, I have met some great guys from Toronto that made the trip down here for our in 2017 at Pinehurst, NC. Sure more would be interested. How many of you guys sign up for the annual event in the states? Sign up for this year is long over, but Kiawah Island, Charleston, SC is the site this year in October. S Carolina opens it's doors for Can/Am days in March. Myrtle Beach is the number one golf destination in the US and I know lots of you guys make down our way during that time. When they do these events, I am sure they are looking when they can get the best prices for it's members at the choice courses they are choosing. Cheers, Chuck......

Chuck, the 2017 TTI was at TPC Sawgrass. Pinehurst was 2016.

It just came to me. Eagles Nest would be the perfect venue. It's central, a beautiful challenging course, and the Titleist national fitting centre is located there!!! Would make an awesome place for a Titleist invitational!!

I agree. Would be the perfect place to hold a T/T invitational

Reading all of the posts so far, I have to agree that having just one would make it tough for a lot of the members to participate. I can also see that the numbers may not be sufficient once it gets broken up into smaller sections of our huge country. Obviously there needs to be a decent number of attendees in order to make it viable for Titleist to try and arrange something. I would imagine a big question that needs to be asked of the members is what are our expectations of Titleist in arranging such an event? May I suggest that we have multiple locations that are set up by the local Titleist rep with the understanding that we all pay our green fees to limit the cost on our sponsor? The goal being that the Titleist rep can reach out and determine the level of interest in their area and make arrangements with a course to block off the appropriate tee times ? It would be a great opportunity to have a meet and greet with our fellow members :). Keeping in mind that not everyone is available on every weekend or week day it is hard to accommodate everyone.

I would be in for this. It takes a lot of time, effort, money and manpower to put on something like this; hopefully Titleist may consider this idea for next year if manpower and budgets permit.
  17. Having been to the ones in the US, its a pretty amazing experience and can't wait for Kiawah this year ! Would be great to have a Canadian event and Eagles Nest would be a nice spot with the National Fitting Center. If any of you are contemplating the US invitational in the future, I highly recommend it, but I'm biased as we brought the title home to Canada !

I would love to see a TT Invitational in Canada. So many amazing courses to choose from. Time of year would be key though, the TT Invitational has typically been in the fall (so far anyway). This makes the timing a bit of hit or miss in some areas. That said, I would be in. Looking forward to Kiawah!

  19. Well, to be honest, here in Canada we have 1/10th the population of the US, so I think it would be safe to say that you would have 1/10th the golfers. And getting from one end of the country to the other via Air is 2-3 times as costly. And fall here in Canada is A LOT different than our southern neighbours. So right from the get-go, this would be an uphill challenge.
Now with all that being said, I would love to see 2 events, one East one West so that we all can have an opportunity to participate without having to cash in the kid's scholarship fund. And in my honest opinion if Titleist decided to do an event, honestly they could scale it down from their other events. We Canadians are a humble and gracious bunch so we wouldn't need a lot. Although I am sure that most of us wouldn't say no to some of Titleist's special treatment.
I would support this 100% and volunteer some of my time to support this as well.

    Team Titleist Staff
    Hi Everyone,
Thank you all for the interest and excitement. A Team Titleist Canada Invitational is something that we have discussed in the past. With that said, the Team Titleist Invitationals that take place in the US are indeed open to Canadians. We have shared the invite with Team Titleist Canada to Pinehurst and TPC Sawgrass over the past few years. The most recent TT Invitational at Kiawah Island was also available to all TT Members globally.

We have seen some Canadian TT Members attend these events in the past, but by no means a large enough to convince us that hosting one here in Canada would draw the number of TT Members required to fill the event.

Given how spread out we are here in Canada, the travel cost within Canada would be similar (if not more expensive) than the cost to travel to the US depending on the location we secure to host it.

While it is sold out, check out the details of this most recent TT Event at Kiawah Island via the link below.
Would you attend a similar TT Event in Canada for these prices (be sure to convert to CAD) at a marquee location in Canada?

Thank you once again for your feedback!

  22. The answer I have is maybe. The price is one factor , and location really is another factor.

As a border city Ontario resident I agree its cheaper to fly to SC from Detroit than it is to fly from Calgary to Toronto.

But if given the option of driving 4-6 hours I see it as a much smaller burden then having a 2-4 hour flight. 30 percent of the country lives basically within 5 hours by car of each other in Ontario. Which means less time needed off work and a much more convenient than flying internationally , transporting clubs ect.

I think you would be pleasantly surprised to see th large interest if we had one in the GTA ( Eagle's nest would be a thought). Im 4 hours away and would drive there before I would ever consider flying down south and all the pain in the butt things that could come up with it.

Just food for thought. Thanks again for making Team Titleist soo great again this season!

I think there would be some substantial interest in this. It really depends on the venue though, if it is going to be later in the year like the US one, it would have to be somewhere reasonably warm (likely out west) to get enough interest. I personally would rather go down to the US rather than somewhere in Ontario. It would feel more like a vacation rather than a golf tournament.

    Lethbridge,

This would be within my price range. I was looking at attending the Kiawah Island one however the dates did not match up for me.

For just over $1400 I could get a new set of AP2's lol.

I think it boils down to cost and time for us in Canada. That $1400 doesn't include airfare so say $2000 USD whereas MRau has a good point where most of us are within 5 hours drive of a good course or could find our own accomodations a bit cheaper that's nearby a course. Time off would also be easier providing its during the week, weekend would be best for us.

It would be amazing if we could do it at Eagles Nest and close to the time around the RBC Canadian Open and have some of the Titleist ambassadors visit :-) I guarantee that may draw a lot of people from around Canada and even some from the states if it was also opened up to them.
  26. Thanks Mitch!

    Mitch,

Thanks for the link. While those prices look expensive, I note that they also include accommodations. Since I live near Toronto and if an event is chosen for the Toronto or southwest Toronto area, the accommodations portion would not be needed by me.

That being said, if you have this in the Toronto area (at say Eagles Nest), I don't think you would have much of a problem in getting enough golfers to fill your event (I am thinking in the range of 144?). I certainly would be interested!
