    Hi All

Curious as to what others do, have a Phantom X 12 and love it.

After 45 rounds and practice my stock pistolero plus grip is slick .... I wash my clubs after use (heads) and have given the grip a good cleaning from time to time however the grip is getting very slick and no longer tacky like they are stock anymore

In Canada hard to get a replacement Cameron grip for a reasonable price

My question is how do you guys keep the grips good? I am a fan of the old school pistol grips and love the feel of the pistolero plus

    Thanks

I use warm water and a little dish soap. I like using one of those microfibre towels and gently wipe the grips down in a circular motion. I do find it cleans the grips well and after a quick rinse with warm water I get a lot of the tackiness back.

    This is the best way.

I find that if they really get glazed and soap no longer works, you can remove the glazed rubber with a fine grit sandpaper and then proceed with maintaining them with soap and water.

A minor thing I do before every practice session and round is to wash my hand throughly so that it removes all the oil and dirt. Thanks for this blog as it is a reminder for me to clean my grips. Warm water, Dawn and soft bristle brush. Good call on the fine grit sandpaper Dale!

Whenever my grip gets low or doesn’t have any tackiness I just swap out. I’ve always found whenever I wash my grip it just gets the slimy feeling. So I gave up on that.

However I do have an extra Scotty Cameron grip brand new if you want it? Just cover the shipping and it’s yours.

    Definitely

Hit me up with a PM. I’ve tried all the sandpaper etc. Must be my hands

    Thank you

Well, I got a SOS pad package from the supermarket and cleaned the grip and went with that and it is tacky again! I was out a few weeks ago with my friend who was a CPGA pro (since gave his status up) and he said to me they feel best all glazed over....

Everyone is an individual I said and myself i prefer the new feeling as it is immediate feedback for me when the putt is struck well..

I wish they were easier to obtain though as I will go through this issue again next year the sweat in my hands etc myst break down the rubber... I played 80 + games this year though so I surely used the putter quite a lot

    Thanks Guys

    Dan
