With the holidays coming up my wife told me she wants to get me a putter for Christmas. I've made the switch to Titleist with my irons and driver and am planning to (piece-by-piece) convert my wedges, wood, hybrids, and putter to Titleist so I'm going with a Scotty for sure. I also want to be fitted for the putter so that I can be confident that I have the right one for me.

I'm in Sacramento and, according to Titleist's website, there is an advanced fitting center at Haggin Oaks Golf Club, which is also the place I play at most often. Granted, it has a nice golfshop but whenever I've gone to the indoor putting green and looked at the putters they have I usually see only a few options when it comes to Scotty putters. There will be a few mallets, some belly putters, and then a Newport 2. Usually that's what I see at other places too. I'm partial to blade putters so it would most likely be a Select Newport or a California. However, looking at the Scotty website there are a bunch of different blades besides the Newport 2.

My question is, basically, where can I go and try out a wide variety of Scotty putters? If Haggin is an advanced fitting center do they have a bunch of putters to try in the back that they aren't displaying for the general public? Or do I have to go somewhere else?

Jason, Not sure about the selection at Haggin Oaks, I live in Sacramento also, but I play left handed. I have gone to I Fit Golf in Folsom to check out putters. Once they have fit you they will order through their Titleist rep to get what you need. Call them and ask for Bobby. Hope this helps for here in the Sac area. Maybe we can play soimetime. Jim

I've found Scotty putters to be the most difficult to find and try.  A number of stores I've been to had them locked up.  But some of the bigger stores will generally have a good selection.  Unfortunately it's going to be hit or miss as to whether they have them and have them available to demo.  Good luck!
