What is "pureing" ? What are the benefits ? If I order an "Exotic" shaft on a new 913D3 through a golf shop from Titleist will it come "PURED" ? Is it an option ?

Short explanation: The theory behind puring is that all shafts have an inherent asymmetry because they are not perfectly oriented. In the early days of graphite, the cutting, layering and rolling could result in a shaft that would bend offline and twist in several directions. Puring would find the most optimal shaft orientation and rotate the shaft to orient it in that direction. Fast forward to todays graphite - most high end graphite shafts are made using CAD designs and are precisely placed and layered. This results in a much more uniform shaft. We have done testing with our pros as well as amateurs and tried to measure a discernable difference in "pured" and non pured shafts as they hit. We have not been able to measure a discernable difference and do not offer it as an option.

Great answer, thanks for adding the logic behind not offering this option based on diverse player feedback. Be Well.!

Cathi, that is probably one of the best explinations I have seen! Great work!!

Cathi, would your explanation cover the topic of the newer metal shafts for irons? Which company's metal shafts for irons would be the closest to "pured" from the factory? Are stiffer flex metal shafts closer to pured than weaker flex metal shafts?
Thanks, Rod
Great question bro, thanks!

I WAS FITTED FOR CLUBS LAST YEAR. GOT A SET OF AP1 IRONS WITH STEEL FIBER SHAFTS. WHEN THEY CAME THE SHAFT WAS" PURED" . SO ALL MY SHAFTS FLEX THE SAME - THE FEEL IS DIFFERENT THAN ANYTHING I HAVE EVER SWUNG. YOU CAN SAY IT'S ALL MENTAL BUT WHAT PART OF THE GAME IS NOT MENTAL!!
