First, yes...replace the 3 iron with a hybrid if you need more accuracy or consistency...the fact you are asking the question probably indicates you do not have the consistency you prefer yet.  Also, hybrids are easier to hit out of rough so that will be an added advantage for you as a 8 handicap. 

Second, Yes again...your favorite wedge probably has its grooves worn and thus you are missing a lot of potential spin.  The last time I was with a pga tour pro a couple months ago he indicated like so many of his peers they are changing almost every 60-120 days to ensure their grooves are fresh.  If you are trying to improve from a 8 handicap to a lower number this replacement may be to your advantage...5 years is a long time to have a wedge...I replace mine every year.  I am a 1 handicap. But do not take my word for it, just buy another vokey wedge with the exact same loft, grind and shaft/grip characteristics and see for yourself.

Replace the Vokey 56, add a Vokey 60, and get a Scotty!!!!

Do you think that a scotty will make my game better? It's so expensive and an ody isn't bad either.

Buy a Scotty?  Depends on where you are with your game.  My own experience was I've played with many of the new putters, and my talent couldn't see enough of a difference to bother updating.  Using a larger grip helps many with wobbly wrists. 

However, I definitively was rolling better with a Futura X.  My confidence that I can roll more with less pull/push was key in my decision.  Putters are the most personal of decisions of any club, so buying any Scotty may not improve your game, but if you need (as opposed to want) a change, and you can do some serious comparisons, the right putter can shave 4-6 strokes off your game.  A putter is close to 1/3 of your strokes and can last years.  If you are in a position to evaluate the right putter as an investment, it can be more cost effective than a new driver that needs to be updated every 3-5 years.

A 60 degree wedge is probably the toughest of the wedges to hit.  I am taking it out of my bag and am going to rely on my 55*.  I do not carry and 3 or 4 iron so I am looking to order a 24* hybrid to go with my 19* and 17*......as to your putter....putters are a personal item and are dear to the heart.....we can do our best to lute you to a Scotty because most of us play that brand and it is a good putter...but without a good stroke and much practice and does really matter what kind you own.....I started out playing with Pngs and swore by them for many years and then went to Odysy and the Scotty.  My Pngs that I played with for so many years were the Pal series with a plumber neck shaft and when I changed to Odyssey I continued to used the same type setup but the head was just a little heavier at 340.  Then I got my first Scotty Newport 2.5 and it two had the same set up and same weight.  The only real change I have made was when I bought my Newport 2 Notchback Select and changed the weights from 10 to 15.  I am a fair to good putter and a streaky putter.  I do like the set up on this putter.  I like the way the ball comes off the face and with minimum effort.  I cannot knock the Odysy putters or Pings, they all were very good to me, but as the saying goes, "it's the indian, not the arrow"......the more you practice with that bow, the more targets you will hit......I personally like the SC putter I have and would highly recommend it.........but you have to try a lot of putters and know what feels best in your hands and when you hit ten good balls you will know.......and don't doubt that feeling...

I am playing a Scotty Golo this year. Last year I played a white Ice and a Vrsa. Both Odssy's were incredible putters. The Scotty has some holes to fill this year.

Yes, you should definitely get rid of the 3 iron and add another wedge. You could go 52, 56 and 60°.  Alternatively, you could go 54, 54, and 58° and make each of your irons 1° strong. That way you would have a 4° gap between all of your wedges and your 4 iron distance would get a touch closer to your hybrid. 

The pro who set me up with my 714 AP2s have my irons set with 3* gaps (5,6,7), 4* gaps (8,9,P) and then 5* gaps with the wedges (50,55,60)....I just ordered an additional 713H 24* because my 5 iron is a 27* and I have a gap and am getting rid of my 60* wedge.......the older I get, the hard to hit......the Titleist Hybrids are just great and when I play longer senior tees I really need this club.....just more food for thought.......

Yeah - if you have a 21H, ,might as well drop the 3 iron and maybe add a 19* fairway.   My wedge setup is SM4 48-06 and 54-11 bent 1* strong, 58-06 and 64-07.   Normally if you look at a 21 fairway vs 21 hybrid vs 3 iron, the fww goes 10 yards more than the hybrid and 20 more than the iron. 

I have a 21 fairway and 22H and there is a gap of 10 yards.  I've been using a 7 wood of one form or another since 2006.

Thinking about replacing my 52 and my 56 degree wedges... Only thing is i love my 56 so much and i don't want to replace it (it's already 5 years old though)

Your setup is nearly identical to mine! I don't have a 3 iron yet I have four wedges. Honestly, if you find you need help around the green, get a 60*. It has made a HUGE difference for me within 70 yards because I have four wedges to choose from (although I use the 60* about 90% of the time from 70 on in). On the contrary, if you feel you need the distance, add another hybrid. My gut tells me to suggest another wedge though... The additional 4 degrees from your 56* may seem like a small amount but you'll notice a difference immediately if you get the wedge

I use my 56° wedge for everything from about 95 yards till the green.

I do think an additional wedge will help though, for bunker shots etc. because i don't think i need the extra yards. For reference: i hit my 7 iron about 170 to 175 yards.

Still wondering if i should get a new 56° though...
