  1. I play Titleist CB 712 3-PW, PX5.5, +1/2" and 1.5* upright. I had my lie verified on a 6i at 1.5* upright and my fitter set each club 0.5* up or down off of the 6i. I noticed the standard CB specs are not all 0.5* lie gaps (ie more in long irons and no lie difference in 9-pw). So my PW is 66* lie angle, which actually 2*up from std specs. Obviously there is some engineering purpose for the std specs, so I'm wondering if when I purchase my SM5 52 and 58 if I should get 1.5*up and have pw adjusted back down to 65.5* or get the wedges in 2*up at 66? Lastly, should I get the lie of the long irons set 1.5* off to std specs or keep them set a std 0.5* off of each other? Thanks!!

    Hi Josh,

Determining what lie angle is right for you should be completely judged off ball flight and contact. If you and your fitter have determined that going in .5 degree increments is best for your game, I would suggest sticking with that.

With regards to your wedges, I would suggest trying to see a local fitter and hitting a couple at the different lie angles. Pay attention to flight, contact and short shots around the green. Proper lie angle really is player dependent.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Take care,

    Bubba
