  1. Need some advice.

I am getting the 714 AP2s with UST Recoil Prototype 110 F5 shafts, soft stepped one  ( suppose to have shipped yesterday, so I am expecting them next week).

I am wanting to get a 50 and 54 % wedges with the UST recoil shafts.

Should I get the shafts in 125 weight and same stiffness?

    Thanks

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for the question. Great to hear you have a new set of AP2's coming soon.

As you probably know, it is always best to see a local fitter and try the different combinations first. With that said, most of the time I suggest that golfers keep the exact same specs in their GW as the rest of their irons.  The GW is primarily used for full shots and should perform and feel as similar as possible to the rest of the set. With regards to the 54, some people prefer a little more weight in their SW and some individuals prefer it to be a little softer flex, while others don't want to change anything. Think about the shots you will hit with the 54; if you typically play full shots, lean towards replicating the specs on the irons. If it is primarily a short game club, something a little softer or heavier may help.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Bubba
