Swing weight

  1. Hi there,

I have been hitting a 910 D3 8.5 driver with a RIP 60g shaft for the past couple of years.  I am looking to add some weight to it and am not sure about how to go about doing that!  What would be my best options for this?  my driver swing weight seems to be off especially compared to the rest of my clubs.  I have a 910 3 wood with a rifle 6.0 shaft and it feels great and the swing weight is perfect, however my driver is a completely different story.  I hit the ball very high and need a low launching, low spinning driver shaft.  What are my best options for making a change with my driver?

    Hi Brodie,

I would start by adjusting the loft of your current driver. Maybe try the D-1 or C-1 setting to reduce the loft to 7.75. This may help lower the launch and spin. If this does not work, it is really best to see a local fitter so you can try and compare different shafts and find a combination that gives you ideal launch conditions.

    Hope this helps.

  3. What about adding weight to it? I would like to make it heavier somehow by either adding weight or getting a heavier shaft

You could certainly add weight by adjusting the bezel weight on the bottom of the head or by going with a heavier shaft. But it would be a prediction as to how this would affect performance. If you are going to change shafts or add weight, we would recommend seeing a Titleist fitter first.
