    Hi everyone,

Name is Nabil and this is my first time posting.  I played the 690 mb's with DG S300 shafts for 10-11 years and by the time I hit 28 years old, my club head speed had increased quite a bit and the S300's just weren't cutting it.  I ended up going with the AP2's with KBS Tour X shafts (soft stepped), and i have subsequently loved them 95% of the time.  Sadly, I miss the workability of the blades, so now I am leaning heavily towards switching back to blades, but I am torn on what shaft set up I should put in them to get similar ball flight characteristics. So here are some basic stats about my game:

Driver clubhead speed : 110-115 mph

    7 iron carry :  165-170

Tempo :  Smooth, rhythmic (when I am not being stupid and trying to murder everything)

Preferred shot shape :  power fade

    Here is my questions:

    1)  Should I stick with my current shaft set up?

    2)  If I were to choose the KBS Tour V X-flex (soft stepped), what general effect would this have on the ball flight characteristics vs my current set up?

    Hi Nabil,

Welcome to Team Titleist, nice to have you here!

The most important way to start the search for new clubs is to identify your miss, or what you would like to see improve with your game. Do you hit your current irons too high, too low, etc. It sounds like you want a club with more workability, which the MB will offer more of.

The only way to know if you should stick with your current wedge setup is to see a local fitter and try that shaft in an MB head. I will say that if the only difference you are looking for is more workability, that will likely be achieved through a change in head. As for the Tour V, it is fairly similar to the KBS Tour with regards to specs. Because of this, the only true way to see what the difference is would be to hit it.

I hope this information helps you get started. Please let me know if you have any other question.

    Bubba
