Hi everyone, I use a 913 D2 driver with the Diamana Blue s62 in reg flex. Love the club, but lately I've been hearing how you can gain more accuracy with a heavier shaft so that leads to my question. What type of benefit can you expect if i were to go with the 72g version of the same shaft? I researched and found a Titleist Club Fitter in my area but once he found out i already had the driver and would only need a shaft he lost all interest in helping me. So I did some research on my own by purchasing several shaft brands online and playing 2 rounds with each, the Diamana Blue was by far the best for me. Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

If a heavier shaft worked for every golfer, then there wouldn't be lighter shafts. Good, bad, or indifferent, we all have to own our own swings. Not that different shafts can't improve - I have fallen in love with Speeder shafts in the metal woods and keep the S+ in hybrids. Another option for you is to find a demo day nearby in your tri-state area. The reps generally have a number of the more common Titleist approved shafts.

I was always told the lighter shaft increases swing speed. Went for a fitting, and was fitted for a D8 swing weight and moved up to a stiff flex. FOR ME, it worked. Got me to slow down on the transition and helped with more center face hits

Typically the heavier shaft will have a firmer tip flex than the lighter shafts of the same series, that leads to less spin and slightly lower launch. Some stronger players prefer the heavier feel & balance it provides, creating more consistency in their swing. You should go to a local shop that has simulator and see if it cost you any swing speed, some (feel) players are more weight sensitive than others also.

Thanks for your feedback guys, I've purchased a 72g Diamana Blue to use this week instead of my 62g. Going to play 2 rounds to see which works best, the losing shaft will be on eBay. lol
