Hi Everyone - I am in the market for a new set of Titleist AP1 716 irons. I am coming from the 712 AP2. In my 712 I played the project x pxi shaft. I enjoyed this shaft, but I have been reading so much good stuff about the kbs c-taper lite shafts. I have demoed this at several retailers in Columbus, Ohio in miz heads (nobody seems to have the c-taper lite in the Titleist fitting cart). I wanted to see if anyone thought these lower spinning shafts would not play well in the AP1?

    Thanks for your thoughts.

    Brian

  2. Hi Brian,

The KBS C Taper lite is a great shaft, as are PXI's, and we have them available for fitting via our shaft library. Have your fitter give a call at 888-TITLEIST to request the shaft for you to try. Let us know how is goes.

I have the AMTs in the new AP1s and they work great. No issues with a lower spinning shaft in these

I changed to KBS C-taper lites in my 714 AP2's specifically to help lower the trajectory as I hit the ball very high with Nippon shafts (both in 710 AP1's and 712 AP2's). The weight of this shaft was similar and the result was what I was targeting for ball flight. Of the various shafts I tried in my fitting (Windmill Lakes in Ravenna, OH) I also hit the PXI's prior to making my final decision. It was close between the two.
