  1. I have a cally Optiforce 440 with a stiff Diamana S+. In the market for a new driver and want to go with a Titleist. Like the feel of my current driver but having some issues with spin. Recent trackman session averages of all 14 driver shots (good and bad) showed ball speed 159, attack angle +0.4, launch angle 13, and spin rate 3570. Best spin rate on any shot was 2800. Was using ProV1x. Driver set in standard 9 degree setting.

Went to Golf Galaxy and had them make me a 915 D3 9.5 degree with the Diamana S+ in stiff. Was on a flightscope with these Maxfli balls (with no metallic stickers) and spin readings were close to 4000 on good shots. Thus I balked at buying the club. Any suggestions, looking at the above numbers, what I could do? Less loft? Stiffer shaft? Different shaft?

    Thanks

I'd go to get fully fitted and explain your issues.vyou might need to spend a bit more for an exotic shaft like the graphite design bb to keep it down. Also, get a few lessons with a pro working on driver delivery and see if this can get your spin more optimum before you get fitted.

Flight scope sucks. Last week I was with a buddy who was looking to buy Irons. He was hitting balls at golf galaxy into a Flight Scope monitor. I commented on how contestant he was hitting them when he said " yea that one should be 2 fairways right". We asked the sales man and he said we have a foresight that is more accrete. we went to the other bay were the foresight was and sure enough he was spraying balls everywhere.
Find a trackman or at least a foresight. Flight Scope is just a sales tool to make you think your hitting it well.

I would find a Titleist specific fitter with a trackman if you are interested in that driver. An individual like that would be able to get you the results you are looking for and also seeing your golf teacher is a good idea. I am a fitter in Michigan and just based on that 4000 spin rate seems very high with the numbers of launch angle and such you had with your optiforce driver. If you had those same numbers with the titleist driver or any driver it would be hard for me to see the spin go up so exponentially like that. If that was the case I would stay with that shaft and try changing the loft as loft has the biggest effect on spin. And if that wasn't getting the numbers then depending on how you would feel about it the D4 would be an option. That driver takes off a lot more spin however it is less forgiving than both the D2 and D3. Ultimately, I would find somewhere that you can get on a trackman as that will give you the absolute most accurate results.
