Avoid recycled or refurbished golf balls.  They have been painted and stamped by non-professional golf ball manufacturers.  If not done properly these alterations will affect the natural performance of the golf ball.

You are better off buying the regular used golf balls.  Even if they have some minor scratches, at least their real playing characteristics are not affected.  I would choose a used golf ball (unaltered) over a recycled/ refurbished golf ball anytime.

When you go to some department stores and check out their golf aisle... you will see that some sell refurbished and used golf balls.  Although the refurbished looks nicer and newer, the used ones are the better choice.

I have found some used Golf Balls to be a Plus from the internet.  The site typically sells 3 grades of used balls and sometimes will offer a refurbished ball.  Can only speak for the used balls.  They performed as well as new ones of the same model.  In order to save on shipping and get all possible discounts, I ordered over 100 balls.  Now that I average less than 2 balls a round, I can handle the dollar or two to use new balls since I save on a cart by walking.  I'd be worried about refurbished.
