  1. Yes, I am starting a thread with this debate.  I recently switched from the ProV1x to the ProV1 (both current models).  I wasn't getting enough action with my mid-irons on the X.  Funny thing I noticed is that I am actually hitting the ProV1 further off my irons than the X.  Not sure if it's a compression thing or simply higher ball flight, but I like the result much better with the V1.  I have played the X for years, but the most recent model on hard fast greens wouldn't check enough for me.  Just thought I was getting older and not hitting my irons crisp.  I am 44, hit AP2's with XP95 S300's.  I am golden off the tee in terms of length and I am enjoying the latest boost to performance on longer Par 3's with my 6-5-4 irons.  Anyone else notice this?

    Thanks.

    Chris

I agree, getting more distance with the new Pro V.

I'm really curious to hear more responses to this.  Years ago I went away from Titleist balls in favor of more green side spin.  I have been told the new V1X has green spin around the greens.  I'm not worried about extra distance anywhere, but if anyone has played this ball I'd love on input!.

Paul (or anyone else for that matter),

Are you just getting more distance from your irons, or other clubs as well (Driver, FW, Hybrid, etc).

Whatever the rules were, they no longer apply. V1x is not just for swingers over 104 mph anymore. Being at a lower speed (85-88), I get more distance from the 1x lift with driver/long clubs than the V1 and don't have a preference around the green. Higher speed players may getter better length with the V1 with a more boring trajectory and longer roll outs. In any event, they both work better for me than 3 editions ago when I might used a found Pro-V on par 3s only.

I haven't played either of the newest year balls, been going through my supply of the last years balls. Just picked up a dozen of the newest ProV1x's that Im excited to try out. For me the ProV1x has always been a better ball for me.

during my last round I hit several pitch shots that I thought were coming in too hard and fast but stopped so quickly that everyone  in my group was asking what ball I was playing.  I've loved the pro v1 for a long time and the newest version is outstanding in every category.

I use the prov1x mostly because it has less spin off the tee and I get better control. I do find that the spin around the green is good enough to stop the ball where it should.  Due to cost, sometimes I use the NXT Tour s which I have found gives similar results.

Hi. I played Pro v1 for years and loved them. I actually believe they had a lot to do with some major breakthroughs. Recently I switched to the Pro v1x and for a while I liked them because I did pick up some driver distance. Unfortunately, I haven't been getting as much spin control on partial shots around the green so I switched back. The iron distance is actually more consistent and imo way more controllable. As far as height , I thought the Pro V1 was supposed to launch lower? I could be wrong.

I prefer the FEEL of the ProV1 over the ProV1x.  The x -does- have a lower, more boring trajectory, especially off the driver.

Yes, I noticed that all clubs were going further with ProV1 vs. the ProV1x.  Feels softer around the greens as well.
