In early Fall 2014 I received a wonderful surprise in the mail: a sleeve of balls in a plain white box from Titleist! Needless to say, I was quite pleased to be invited into the Titleist R&D testing community.
Honestly, I'd tried ProV 1's and 1X's and although I loved the feel, I felt that I didn't have the swing speed to make them perform for my game. So, I was enthused to see how these new balls would work on the course.
I was even more enthused once I tried the "Test" balls with the red font, that I ultimately learned were the prototype ProV 1X released in January 2015.
It only took one 9 hole round to recognize that these were really something special: feel, spin, distance and durability. All I could say was "wow" and started playing them earlier this year. I added something like 20 yards to my drives and began needing to walk farther to find my ball . . . . in the fairway!
And now, thanks to including me in your test program and your new ball, I'm really pleased to say that as 14 hcp golfer, I just broke 80 on a regulation golf course for the first time, including shooting even par 36 on the front nine!
All I can say, is I'm a believer now and can't wait to see where these ProV 1x's will take me in the future!
