I've used Pro V1 for as long as I can remember but at the weekend I tried the Pro V1x and they still felt soft off the face when using a wedge which is really important to me but I did notice that the ball flight when using my driver was a bit lower. Just wondering what the main differences are and what other benefits would I get/gain?

  3. The Prov1 is a 3 piece ball vs the 4 piece Prov1x. The Prov1 is softer than the 1x and has a more penetrating ball flight than the 1x which has a higher ball flight. Greenside spin is the same it's really just compression and flight characteristics that are different

the X gets less spin, so the ball flight is slightly lower.
  5. Interesting, since the ProV1X is meant to fly initially higher and feel firmer than the ProV1....according to Titleist and their ball fitters.

If it works for your game I would go with it! The ProV1 still feels the softest to me...

The ProV1x will spin less than the Pro V1 which causes a slightly lower flight. I prefer the Pro V1x because of the reduced spin off the driver and I don't spin the ball off the front of greens the same way as a Pro V1. I would play a couple rounds with both and see which one is more consistent for you.

I get a higher ball flight with less action using Pro V1x. Believe me the action is still plenty! When I game Pro V1s I generally get too much action and the ball flight is a little lower.

I'm Generally a Pro V1x Guy but lately I have been playing some Pro V1's and I have not lost any distance but gained some control on iron shots from the 100 to 180 yard range. I'm just going with the flow...

    Good Stuff!

    Cheers,

I prefer the ProV1x, less spin off the driver (straighter), and a bit longer than the ProV1. Nice amount of spin on short iron shots. Just a bit firmer on the putter with more of a click than the ProV1
