Playing #17 at Goat Hill Park 165 slightly down hill. Two Solidly Struck 7i's....Both balls had a similar ball flight and landed 12 inches from each other.

Ball #1 is a yellow Prov1X just below it's pitch mark.

    Ball #2 is a lost TP5X i just found...way below it's pitch mark.

    Interesting Results...which would you choose???

ProV1x any day and twice on Sunday's, as they say. We all know that golf balls are a lot more alike today than they've ever been in the past. That being said, wouldn't you rather use a ball that you're comfortable with and that goes and stops where it hits, instead of worrying about it backing up too much? You want to start having to hit your 145yd club 150ish or more to account for the "cool" backing up spin. I'd never use yellow though. Would be very happy with it going where it is supposed to. That's what I've experienced for several years using the Titleist. If I really want to spin in back I can.

Dr. K, just like a Cubs fan anytime I find another brand ball I simply throw it back to the field.

I know the quality, I now count on the 4-4-3 deal each March, and the line won't suddenly disappear next year. Come to think of it - another 2 years before the next version is even available. When I get RF's endorsement contract, I'll switch then.

  9. I've used loads of different balls but I can honestly say never been more happy using prov's.

The avx was a pleasant surprise for me as lots of people on here don't rate it. Really great ball imo.
  10. IN most circumstances I don't want a 7 iron to spin back. I want it to hit and stop within a few feet. The only time I want a shot to spin back is on certain wedge shots. Pro V1 does it for me.

Titleist equipment only in my bag.
  12. As a mid-teen handicapper, I always operated on the premise, that if I used the same ball all time (and a good ball - ProV1), that I couldn't blame for ball for my bad shots. Now I'm thinking that if I use a ball with more spin, that it might exaggerate my pulls and pushes. Thoughts?
