i dont swtich balls. i just stick with the V1x. this was the ball that best suites my game so i stick with it the whole way through becouse it helps build consistance threw out the game. theh balls release diffrently of the club faces and for my short game i like to have a better idea whats going to happen. As far as weather a v1 accentuates more than a v1x its all based on swing speed.the two balls have diffrent dimple patters that generate diffrent spin and aero diynamics so based on your swing speed yes you'll get diffrent results. thats all apart of titleist ball fitting program. its finding what ball is best for you.

In all honesty when I played them the only difference is prov1 is slightly softer.

I play the Pro V1x all the time. I find that the Pro V1 spins a bit too much for me.

I have a question...where does one go to ask about the Stories of Trust - I wanted to ask if people had to become members of Team Titleist in order to vote?  Some of my friends on Facebook aren't golfers but they wanted to leave a comment...sorry about this intrusion...and hey..I like Pro V1x's myself..I find they go further...

Switched to the ProV1x this year and love the distance and less spin...could never get comfortable with spin of the Prov1's.  Just received my sleeve of new ProV1x's from Titleist...looking forward to see how they differ from the current ones!

I agree with the general comments that the Pro V1s are softer and spin more.  On switching balls during play, it depends upon whether or not the committee is enforcing a "one ball" rule.  Many club tournaments don't, and some do but not in all formats (e.g., permitting players to play different ball from hole to hole -- but the same ball within each hole -- in alternate shot formats). 

I do change balls from hole to hole depending on the circumstance.  This problem may be more me than the ball but I find I can work the V1x better with the driver and the V1 better with the irons.  I played the V1x exclusively for years and hit a draw off the tee box most of the time.  I can not draw a V1 as easily with my driver, it turns into a hook when I least need it.  Lately, I have been playing the V1 setting up along the left side and hitting a "power" fade off the tee box to the center of the fairway and working the ball more around the greens.  While I loose a few, very few, yards off the tee I find that I hit more fairways and can work it better around the greens.  There are a few holes, however, that absolutely call for a longer drawing ball.  On these I pull out a V1x and hit a high draw.  The problem is that for the last two weeks neither of them seem to go into the hole.  It must be the ball because surely it can not be my fault.  Maybe the "New" Pro V1 they are sending me will fall in the hole better.

In lay-mans terms, you are correct, the V1x will spin less, thus not accentuating the side spin.  The Pro V1 does spin more and will turn your usual draw into more of a hook if you want to really "draw" it.

As you may know, switching between types of balls in tournament play is against the rules, but you can swap when you are practicing.

i think the pro v1 because it is much softer then the pro v1x though. i can ge more backspin with the pro v1 then the pro v1x
