V1 or V1x

  1. Looking for an opinion on which ball to go with.

I hit all of my clubs with a subtle draw and my driver averages 260-275 yards.  Right now I'm looking for a ball that will stop on the green instantly or even spin back a little.  Would I be better off with the V1 or V1x?  I don't want my draw to turn into a hook with a high spin ball, and I'm comfortable with my distances so that's not a factor.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

have you tried the ball fitting site?

  3. Yes, the ball fitting site says I should use the V1x but the guy at Golfsmith said I should use the V1.  He told me that my draw won't increase with the V1 but I'm not sure.  What I'm really looking for is the ball to stop on the green.

Get a sleeve of each and play a round or golf.  Be sure to carry a notebook and a pencil..... Concentrate, hitting both balls each shot the first few holes.   Note which is longer, in fairway, on green, and if both are on the green -- which one is closer and how much.  Write all this down.   Don't forget the short game.  Write down how both balls land and the amount of spin.  Also do this for all sand shots and putts.  After the first five or so holes, you will begin to notice how both balls can effect your personal game.  This is money well spent and can save you a lot of confusion about what works for other people versus what works for you.   Again, write all this down to clear up any confusion.  Greens and fairways, Joseph.
