  1. Curious how people are installing grips these days. I never even considered the size of the grip really or the left hand vs right hand thickness until about 4 years ago when I got into a set with the MCC +4 grips. I never got used to the multi-material and I hated the logo on top so I changed to simple GP 360s. My irons have 4 extra on the bottom hand to mimic the MCC+4 grips but am curious what others are doing. I am currently experimenting with my woods with just 2 extra on the bottom hand. Anything to eliminate the big left miss (right hander).

Winn Jumbo's with one wrap through the entire length! These grips are nice, but don't think they'll last too terribly long. Thinking the GolfPrice MCC Plus4's will be next!

I used to use a Lampkin, Dri-Tec, Winn, Golf Pride Tour wrap all in the Mid grip size with 2 wraps & all of them seemed a bit large on the right hand. It did definitely quiet my hands but I was losing distance because I would feel like I was swing a tree trunk and didn't get good wrist hinge. (IMO only)

So I started using the MCC +4 Standard with 1 wrap because I actually enjoy the multi-compound material here in Kansas. My hands don't slip on the grips during damp conditions or cold(er) conditions. But I clean them regularly so they stay in good condition. Now my hands feel like they are relaxed and not expanded and the taper seems more natural than same size down the shaft. I never could balance out the wraps on every club. this is easier.

I switched to midsoze a few years back and was really happy. I have thought about going back to standard though.

I have standard size grips, except for the driver, 3-wood and 4-wood. On those 3 clubs, I have the bottom of the grip built up significantly, to help eliminate the big hook.

Golf Price MCC white/black, midsize, wedges and irons for many years now. One wrap only. Replace wedge and short iron grips 3 or 4 times a year. Long irons once or twice a year. (Wear a size L golf glove fwiw.)

Golf Pride Z grips and/or Tour Velvet 360 on hybrid, 3W and driver, standard, 2 1/2 wraps. Replace main driver shaft grip 3-4 times a year. I have a few other driver shafts I switch in and out at times, so typically replace those after some extended usage, too.

Usually will play standard Tour Velvet 360 grips (specified with 2 wraps) on new woods and hybrids until the first re-grip is necessary, before switching to Z grip or a new Tour Velvet.

Also, when buying new irons from Titleist, I always specify standard Tour Velvets, UNINSTALLED, in box, since MCC WHITE midsize is not available at no upcharge. (I can get MCC grips at a really good price and install myself.) The unistalled TVs then go into my inventory of grips for use on my woods/hybrid.

I use Golf Pride MCC oversize grips. I have used duct tape years ago to build up grips rather than masking tape because the build would be a little lighter and not as influential on swing weight. While I'm not a major fan of swing weight to determine how a club should feel, if you use a lot of tape you definitely will alter the club's feel. But you might like how that weight feels. Truly an individual choice...
