TSi1 Weighting

  1. Hi, I got the TSi1 driver earlier this year and it has been a game changer. Based on this I ordered the fairway wood, but having received it today, it is noticeably heavier than the driver? I’ve done some basic weighing, and it suggests the club is 50g heavier than the driver. Is this to be expected, or should I return to the supplier? Both were standard build with no customisation, although I’ve noticed on the fairway wood that the grip looks like a stock item rather than the lite version quoted in the spec by titleist. Thanks

50g seems a little high... but yes, fairways will be heavier than drivers. Driver heads are titanium, and fairways are aluminum. As for the grip... most grips have been out of stock for months, so it's possible they substituted with the closest available option.

What's important is that the swing weights are similar.

Sorry, I meant STEEL, not aluminum in the fairway heads.

If you are concerned, find a local retailer like Golf Mart and see if they have any TSi1 fairway clubs in stock. If they do, go up there and have their repair shop guy weigh each on their equipment. If the same, no problem. If significantly different, return for replacement.
