Working on putting my high handicap set together to hopefully put the time in and drop from my modest 29. Working with fitted T300s SC newport putter and just picked up TSI2 driver and 3 and 5 woods all new and on sale! still working w Cleveland wedges but those are next on the chopping block, now just need to put the time in! Can’t wait to get out there and use them!

Sounds like you are well on your way to setting up the equipment best suited for success. Add some professional instruction and then practice and you will see that handicap come down in no time. Enjoy the process.
  3. But practice with a purpose

I see so many golfers hits so many practice shots on the range but in reality all they are doing is hitting balls with no purpose ... I also hear so many golfers hitting the ball poor on the course and they say I was hitting it well on the driving range

Make sure you spend time practicing your short game and that's where your handicap will start to see improvement

Also remember course management is very important
  4. It's simple math; if nothing else changes and you can reduce your average putts per hole by 1/2 stroke, that's 9 strokes per round. Getting approach/chip shots closer to the hole leads to shorter, more makeable putts.

Noted you were fit for the irons. Great start. The wedges should be fit to match your swing - there are different grinds for “sweepers” vs. “diggers”.

Were you fit for driver/fairways? A 29 handicap does not always do well with a 3W. Just curious. The traditional driver -3W - 5W and 52 - 56 - 60 wedges are no longer a standard. Especially with the PW at 43 degrees.

Good luck on getting to 90, much more fun than hitting a 100 plus.
