  1. Hey there, had a couple questions as I want to gain some insight. I have two of the new ventus velocore + blue wood shafts in 6x and 7x. Obviously for driver there’s typically no tipping involved but woods typically they are .5” for 3 wood 1” for 5 wood and so on in .5” increments, at least to my knowledge as a club builder. However, fujikura recommends no tipping on woods until the 5 wood….. if I were to order a 3 wood through you guys with that shaft in 7x would the standard for titleist be to tip it, or would it be prepped and installed without it? If so what amount? Hope to hear people’s info or info from someone in the company. Thanks!!

Check with Fujikura. I believe they recommend no tipping for driver and 3 wood. If you order I would think Titleist would follow the shaft recommendations unless requested otherwise. You can order and request no tipping if that is what you want.
  3. I sent an email to titleist to try and get a definitive answer, I know srxn doesn’t tip any 3 wood shafts regardless of the manufacturer so I just wanted to double check if they follow the shaft manufacturer recommendation or if titleist did the same for all shafts. Just want it to play the same as if they built it in terms of tipping. Thanks for the response, I appreciate your info!!!!

You would be best to call the Titleist custom club phone number, as this is mostly a user forum with no formal Titleist customer support. All OEM's have different views on tipping and how it performs in their specific models. Just because Fujikura doesn't recommend tipping, doesn't mean Titleist or other company's don't do it. You can request no tipping or a specific trim when placing your order.
  6. I got ahold of them and oddly enough for the ventus shafts they tip .5” for the driver and 1” for both the 3 and 5 wood. Quite different than fujikura recommended lol.

That's what i thought, but wasn't certain. It often comes down to how the OEM adapter interacts with the shaft. Some manufacturers adapters are longer than others, which can affect how a shaft plays.
