    Everyone,

I would like to get a 2-iron.  The only problem is that the only one that I see available is the CB.  Is there any plan to make any other models.

I currently have a 909H that is 19 degrees.  I naturally hit the ball really high and the hybrid is way to high even by my standards.  I cannot do anything to keep it low.  I have always hit a 2-iron until at one point in school, I decided to change it out for a 3rd wedge.  Now I have gone back to 2 wedges and I decided to add a hybrid.  That has not worked out for me.

Does anyone else have any problems finding a 2-iron? Does anyone else use a 2-iron and what kind do you use.

Where can I get one anyways?

    Thanks for any info.

You need to visit a good club builder/fitter. Have you tried a steel shaft in your 910h? Get fitted, a good fitter will cure your ball flight.

My uncle plays AP2 and he doesn't play hybrids. He bought an extra 3 iron extended the shaft and bent it to a 2 iron loft. He's $$$ with that iron! He put a red piece if tape in the ferrule to remind him it's a 2 iron.

I thought about running by there and seeing what they have to say.  I was just thinking about it this morning and figured I would ask to get everyone's opinion.

I currently have a Dynamic Gold X100 shaft in there.

Personally, I found I fare better with a 7 wood vs a 3 or 4 hybrid and I get the desired trajectory. There is also only about 15 yards spacing between the 7W and the 3W.

    Joey,

I got my CB 2 iron last week and put it in the bag straight away, fits nicely in my CB/MB combo set. I have the same problem with having a high ball flight and don't get on with hybrids. I got mine specifically to take out my 5 wood which was a little too close to my 3 wood, also it hits the ball with a better flight and I can use of off the tee or for second shots on par 5's.

What irons do you use now? I'm guessing not CB's, as has already been said you could go and get fitted, I got fitted for my set and added the 2 with the same specs.

My club pro said I'm living in the 80's but I won the club champs on the weekend with it in my bag so maybe the 80's aren't so bad!!

    Dan,

I am currently playing MP-32's.  I have had them a long time and at the time that I bought them, I like them the best.  It is funny because my irons are the only think that is not Titleist in my bag.

I agree, I cannot hit the hybrid.  I am probably going to get rid of it.  Just not worth the hassle that it has.  I have hit a 2-iron as long as I have been playing.  The first set of clubs that I was given was a set of Titleist Model 100's.  I still have them 2-PW.

I think that when I can buy it, I am going to get the CB 2-iron.  Eventually, I am probably going to buy another set then who know what I will like then.

If you hit a 2 iron, why change? I have a golfing partner that hits a 3 iron very well. He can hit a 5 wood off the tee but cannot get it airborne on the fairway. I chucked the idea of using a long hybrid 4 years ago. I have been using a 7 wood for 5 years and I love it! I used to hit long irons very well and I even used a 1 iron back in the 1980s. My swing speed is a bit slower now at age 54 (about 85 mph) than when I was a kid (I was hitting about 105+ and could hit a 3 wood almost 300 yards; I could hit a 4 iron 200 yards also).

I have the same issue with the hybrids, I simply can not figure out how to play them well. I have a 695 2 iron that I continue to use from a really old set. I swap it out occasionly for a third wedge as well. I have hit the 710 cb 2 iron and it is great. It seems to fit the need to keep the ball lower and you can work the ball well with it. It goes great with the ap2 set that I currently have. When the 712 irons are available I am going to go with the mb set 3 to pw and include the cb 2 iron. just my thoughts gabe
