I have been using Titleist Cart Bags for the last 5 or 6 years and really love them from a functional perspective. Everything is completely accessible when on a cart, as it should be, due to the reverse cuff, the typical design on a cart bag. I am totally used to having my clubs displayed for me with the short clubs in the front of the bag and the long ones in the back. It just makes it so easy to find and pull clubs. Though I also have a Titleist Stand Bag, using it on the cart reverses the layout (if you want the pockets accessible) so that the long clubs are in the front and the short ones behind, requiring a reach-around to gain access to the most often used clubs (other than driver), wedges and putter. Much more cumbersome.
I usually change bags every couple years. I play and/or practice nearly everyday, so my bags can get pretty dogeared in that time, though all of my Titleist bags are still in good condition, just not new looking any longer. So, it's now time for another new bag.
I really like the look of the Midsize Staff Bag and noticed the cuff seemed to be very similar in the front and back. Has anyone used the bag as a cart bag and set it up so that the main pockets face out and the driver and woods are in the back with shorter stuff in front? (Like a dedicated cart bag.) With this set up, the strap would be at the front of the bag, as would all the primary pockets typically needed during a round. The problem I see is that, when carrying the bag to and from the car, range, or whatever, you would not easily be able to rest your arm on the driver head in the traditional carry sense, as it would be closer to the ground/further away from your elbow.
Has anyone set their staff bag up this way? Does walking with the bag with the strap over your shoulder feel unnatural? Look weird? It just seems with the cuff height equal in front and back that the bag could be set up in either format, with driver and/or wedges in the back or front when on the cart. Just worried it won't be feasible for carrying with the clubs reversed.
Can you picture what I mean?
