I just got the U.S.A standbag. Have been debating having my name put on it. Wanting feedback as if name on back is ok for anyone or only for professionals.

Personal preference. I tend to move out of bags pretty quickly as new models release (I think that's the same reason why i lease cars instead of buying). Old bags are hand-me-downs or garage sale items so not too many people out there want a used bag with my name on it. Did get the "TT Team Titleist" added this time.

Totally agree with Dale. I give mine to friends when I get a new one and no wants one with my name on it. I have one lightweight travel bag that has my name on it and I have no intentions of replacing it. Only use it when I fly and use my hard case. Saves on weight restrictions. Sole purpose. If you want your name on the bag, order it when you order the bag thru Titleist.

Should have read your post more thoroughly. You already have the bag. Will have to get an after market embroiderer to do it for you. Titleist will not do it now that you have received it. =( That is what I had to do.

It comes down to personal preference. I do not put them on my bag personally.

I can identify my bag without my name on it, just my opinion.

My opinion is if you have your name on your bag you better play up to the heat you'll get by other players
  9. At the end of the day it's your decision. I don't have my name on my bag but I do find other ways to "personalize" it.

No name on bag...I don't want anybody to track me down while on the course.

A personal decision, but this is my observation. Private club members usually have their name and club logo embroidered on the bag and don't even think that " I better be good or a pro to have my name on a bag ", which is usually the thinking of the public course golfer. I was a public course golfer for many years before joining a club so I've heard that line ad nauseum years ago. I believe that that the public course golfer should be the first to get their name on a bag, what with all the theft that goes on, who want's a bag with someone else's name on it. Oh by the way, to answer the question, my name goes on every bag that I buy.

To each their own I say, if you want that personalized touch, go for it. I had bags with my name embroidered when I played on school teams, now I don't bother. Some people may give you heat for it if you're not a pro, but there were plenty of members at the club I used to work at with the name on the bag, and they were all your typical weekend duffers.

Totally personal choice. I had my name on enough stuff in the Army. No name for me!!!

Personal preference and not for me. I agree with Dale in regards to selling it or hand it down i'm sure the other people wouldn't want my name on it. And I've handed down a lot to my friends over the years and it feels good to help others out.

A big NO for me. Like Dale & Speedy, I tend to give things away when I upgrade so factory plain is better.

No name for me either. I like to pass old equipment down to family and friends. I also like to donate to my local high school golf team when I can.

I say it's personal preference. You don't have to be a pro to put your name on your bag and it is a great way to personalize it. But ALWAYS put someone else's name on your golf ball in case you hit it through someone's window!

@steve c Hahaha!! Never thought about putting someone else's name on my ball, that's hilarious!
  23. I just got a new bag and had my name put on it. I live in a town of people with sticky fingers. Good anti-theft system. Plan on keeping the bag

Recently there was a pro trying to make a cut that had his bag stolen. The Sticky Bandit must be in the Stupid Crook Tricks Hall of Fame/Shame. Posted it on e-bay with the pro's name showing in the picture within a day of the procurement. Oh, yea, got caught.
  25. Not to my taste - Happy with my discrete TT bag tag and whatever bits are hanging off the hooks.
Also depends on how you view you surname... Mine is fairly distinctive and, accordingly, I tend to prefer a low profile!

It's personal preference, but I just had this choice for a couple of reasons and chose differently for each.

My club is offering a deal on personalized Titleist bags. I opted for the club logo, the Team Titleist logo, and no name. Too many pros have said things like "when you have your name on your bag there's an expectation" or something like that, and it's drilled into me not to do it.

The EXCEPTION is that my daughter is on her high school golf team. If it's a team bag, then go ahead and get your name on it. That's very cool, and something you can keep forever. So instead of taking the loaner bags, we ordered her a bag with her name on it like some of the other players were doing.
