Any recommendations on rain gear and places to buy? Prefer something not athletic fit.

I love my FootJoy rain gear and it's a sister company to Titleist under the Acushnet family. They also now own KJUS which has some great high-end gear. Assuming by your hat you are Athens Georgia and not Athens Greece should make locating FJ gear a lot easier. You can get it on-line but suggest you go to a retail store and try on to size it properly. PGA Superstore, Golf Galaxy, Edwin Watts, all carry FootJoy.

Go to FootJoy. com. Great selection. Regular fit. Have rain shorts in grey and navy.

Dryjoys are the best I’ve used, can usually find them at a PGA Superstore … or on Footjoy’s website.

I just recently grabbed a set of FootJoy HydroLite short short sleeve top and pants to match. Love the fit and not swing restricting at all. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Fits true to size too.

Sorry to say, I could never get the right fit with F-J rain gear. Went with Zero Restriction. Full sleeve jacket, half sleeve rainshirt and pants. GoreTex 100% waterproof, lifetime guarantee.

I second (or third or fourth) all of the recommendations for FJ rain gear. I would also echo Dale’s comment that you try it on in a store or at your local course before you buy. If you can get some swings in either on the range or at the store so you can make sure get the size right that doesn’t restrict your swing. Rain gear is also good for warmth on cool/windy mornings. Some players like to wear suspenders on the rain pants to prevent the “sag” that is pretty common.

    Good luck

I have been looking for a light weight hooded rain jacket (sleeved or sleeveless) and I can not find anything, except for cheap Amazon stuff.

FootJoy carries the Hydrolite X Rain Hoodie. #30097 Navy and #30098 Black SRP $215. Waterproof and lightweight. Available on FootJoy.com or thru any FootJoy account - golf course or retail store that carries FJ products (if not in stock, normally can be ordered). Two year limited warranty.

Yeah, I’ll probably grab the Hydrolite hoodie at some point, though I am looking more for a similar style with full zip. Thanks.

Yep, I would say you got something that a Titleist warranty would not honor. Probably will leak like a bucket made of chicken wire.

Support your local PGA pro, and, buy rain gear at your local golf course. For a non-athletic fit, I would look at Footjoy and Zero Restriction.

I have used both Footjoy and Zero Restriction over the years. Both brands are very good.

Whatever you choose, make sure you check for water resistance versus water repellent. Even FJ offers degrees of weatherproof. It should match your willingness to be out in the rain. If you will be at the bar in a torrential downpour, you won’t need the most waterproof version.
Not sure why athletic fit is not required. Places like REI and hunting outlets offer excellent ponchos at a much better price point than an outfit designed to minimize hindering your swing.

I have the Footjoy Hydrolite jacket and pants, plus the bucket hat. Played in the driving rain and was dry as a bone. Can't say the same for my bag which took days to dry out. I don't often play in the rain, otherwise I would've gone for the StaDry bag. I think I bought my rain gear at Golf Galaxy.
