Hadn't played much in last 6 years, but got back into it this past year. Was just starting to return to form when injury struck, which knocked me out for the second half of the season.
Was able to play a few times this winter, with the warmer than normal temps here in CT.
So, on Sunday, 1/29/2023, went out for a round. Temp was in high 40's, close to 50. After a 39 on the front, started the back with par, bogey.
The 12th is a short Par 3, 104 yards. The distance this day was 101. Pin was playing back, and long is dead. 15' or so drop off back of green. So, better to be short. Took my 56 degree, which is my 100 yard club, but, with colder temps, was more like 92-93. Again, better to be short.
So, lined up, took dead aim, and let'r rip. Uh-oh, caught it a few grooves low, little thin. Now, worried, I might go over the back. Watching it, it lands on back of green, rips back(green is tilted back to front) and rolls into the cup like a putt. Yes!
So unexpected, as they all are, but crazy to go from worried it will miss the green, to going in the hole. Gotta love golf!
