Final day of February in beautiful Arizona. Been a chilly winter and today was no different. Another long pants day in the high 50's or low 60's with a good breeze out of the east. Playing at my club, Oakwood CC in Sun Lakes, Lakes course, I headed to number 2. It's a tricky Par 3 over a good size lake and very undulated green. Pin was in the middle, 126. I pulled a 9 and and a wedge and threw the 9 iron down when the breeze freshened. I struck the wedge cleanly and watched the Pro V rocket towards the green. It hit right in the middle on the spine that separates the green into 2 distinct halves. One check and it took the spine and headed towards the hole. It clearly was on track but could it be to deep and go around the back side of the hole? I watched intently as it approached the hole and rather than see it reappear on the other side of the flag, BOOM , in it went disappearing and in the hole!! I threw my wedge in air and got hugs and high 5's from my best friends!! This was my second and its been a long 13 years between aces
