I can't believe it! My first one ever and I've been playing for the better part of 25 years. Don't chastise me though, it was with a Bridgestone ball instead! Saturday morning, April 22nd, 2023. Rainy and sub 50 degrees as part of a scramble. Hole 16 at Ironwood Golf Club in Howell, MI, which was our second hole of the day. I shot the flag at 147 but the card said 152. I hit a nice, easy 8 iron and it was tracking the pin right from the jump. The hole is uphill, so it was tough to tell if anything went past the pin at all. Ball one-hopped and disappeared. Now I've played enough to know that usually means I hit it deep or off the back of the green, as I hover between a 15-20 handicap, so I'm very rarely, if ever, flag hunting. But my buddy Nick and I both had an inkling it went in. We drove up, and everyone in my group was engaged at this point, not even looking for their own balls. I very slowly approached the hole as I didn't see anything past the hole, nor did I see anything off the back of the green. Lo and behold, the darn thing was in the hole! I saw it, screamed at the top of my lungs and ran all over the hole in excitement as my buddies tried to chest bump and tackle me! It's literally a feeling I will never forget, almost felt brought to tears after playing thousands of rounds and never quite getting home. Thank you, Titleist, for letting me share my story while it was still fresh!
