I have been playing golf for over 20 years. I played at the division one college level and have played more golf in the last 10 years than most people in their lifetime. I now play for fun 2-3 times a week. This past weekend my husband and I were out playing a course in our area, Fyre Lake. It's a Nicklaus Design with a lot of character. It was 55 and windy. I had just missed the green short with my sand wedge (Vokey of course) and failed to get up and down. I voice my frustration to my husband and told him that this game was "too hard" and that I was "getting rid of this club." Luckily for me, I didn't. The next hole, number 8, was a short downhill par 3 into a stiff wind. It was roughly 100 yards, which was a perfect sand wedge. I threw the ball on the tee box, lined up my shot, swung, then one hop and in the hole. I threw my hands in the air and my husband came running over, scoping me off the ground. A few drinks to celebrate a long-awaited hole-in-one!
