14 is the hardest par 3 at a course I grew up at- Champions at Keene Trace. I was back in town for a random round. After a slow front and bad weather it cleared up for the back. Playing partner asked 'what'd you shoot the pin at' and I said 'I dont need to shoot it, I know what to hit here' (which is about the only time I've ever not shot a pin). Front right pin so about a 155 carry (vs the 182 center on the card) 7iron, pure. I yelled 'money, money' in the air. Hit 3-4 feet in front of the pin, bounced once and disappeared. Luckily I was playing Titelist 1's!. I promptly forgot how to play golf the rest of the round but went out for a steak and brought the ball with me and it had its own seat and plate at the table! I'm 37 and have been playing since I was a kid. Have had some serious near misses but not this one. I'm glad that it was a good shot rather than a lucky bounce and glad I had family/friends (and thus a witness). And I'm really glad it was a great ball that I'll display forever.
