I am 71 and play lots of golf now that I am retired. While playing with my normal group at Tamarac Country Club, O'fallon Il., I stepped up to the 17th hole. It's a 105yd par 3 over a pond. The pin was located in the front, bottom tier of a two tired green and there was a fairly strong wind so I decided to use my 9 iron. I play with Titleist Tour Speed. When I hit the ball, I was pretty sure I would have a good shot. The ball hit about 4 feet behind the pin and started to craw back down the hill of the green. I shouted, " it has a chance to go in" ! With that, I turned away not wanting to jinx it and to my surprise, my buddies exclaimed it went in !!! I didn't even see it go in. It was good day for me as I won 2 skins - one for closest to the pin and one for low score on the hole.
I am a very fortunate - I'd say more lucky than good - as this is my 4th hole in one.
