I got my first hole-in-one on May 7, on the 4th hole at Columbia Golf & Country Club in Philmont, NY. I have been playing regularly since I was 11, and though I was close a number of times, never managed to hole one out. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see it go in. The green is 130 yards uphill and you can’t see any of the green’s surface from the tee. I knew I hit a good shot right at the pin and was hoping for a birdie putt. When we got up to the green and did not see a ball, my first reaction was that I couldn’t believe that the ball had gone into the deep rough behind the green. I was ecstatic to see it in the hole as I walked by. That is when my playing partner snapped the photo.
