I was playing in my league, which is always very slow play. We were waiting all night, and we finally get to the last hole, a par 3, as daylight is running out. The group in front is just teeing off. We decide to join up with them, so now we’re teeing off as an 8-some. I laser the flag to 140 yards and grab my PW. The pin is tucked 3 paces off the front of the green and protected by a vicious bunker. I strike the ball well and it goes up into the fading daylight with a touch of draw. As it descends I can’t see the ball through the background of trees. Collectively as a group we see that the ball land as it clears the bunker, it was right on the flag, but we never see where it ends up. After everyone tees off, we race up to the green, we don’t see anything. At this point we all have the thought racing through our minds. We look in the cup and sure enough there it is. My first hole in one, surrounded and witnessed by 7 other friends. Shot a 33 (-1) on top of it all.
