The Luck of the Irish

Out for an early round of golf with two of my good golf buddies at Lakeview Golf Course in Mississauga, Ontario. The day was beginning to look like it might rain as the wind began to stiffen. After teeing off on the 9th hole, as I proceeded to my ball, I spied a ball sitting in the rough just off the fairway. I looked around to see if it might belong to someone but there was no one on the 8th tee. I picked up the ball and noted it was a Titleist Pro V1 printed with the number 17 and a large green shamrock. Obviously a custom ball, I pocketed it. After finishing the 9th hole, we proceeded to the 10th tee which is a par 3. The wind was really beginning to blow directly in our faces and a few drops could be felt. The tee box was way back near the blues and my buddy ranged the red flag to be approximately 144 yards away. I grabbed my 5 iron and pulled a ball from my pocket which happened to be the one I had just found with the green shamrock. Teeing it up I just tried to concentrate and make good solid contact. The ball flew straight and true right at the flag. It hit the green a bit short of the hole and began to roll up the slope. As I watched, dumbfounded, the white blip continued rolling and suddenly disappeared from sight. Both my buddies cried “it’s in !” As we walked onto the green I began videoing as it was obviously in the hole. My first ever hole in one ! Thanks to a found Titleist Pro V1 and the luck of the Irish !!
