This was my second outing of the season!
It was a chilly 7:55 a.m. tee time. A light drizzle threatened our round. But, I was warmed up and ready to play! I began my round with a hot cup of coffee and a par on hole number one! Not a bad start to the morning!
I strutted to tee box #2. Brimming with hopeful confidence, I stepped up to the tee box with my 8 iron and took a couple of practice swings… just like that… I muttered.
I waggled the club. I hit the ball. It wasn’t pure, but I knew it would get on the “dance floor”. I could tell it was dead on target! It bounced once, then again. It was coming in hot! “Hit the pin!”, I shouted! I thought it rolled past the flag and off the back of the green. Crap.
I walked up expecting to see it in the first cut off the back of the green. No deal. Crap? Is it further back in the rough? My buddy checks the hole. “Did it go in, bro?!” “***, Ron! Hole in one!!”
Best game ever! This game slays me.
