My first hole-in-one happened on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Tannenbaum Golf Club in Drasco, AR. It's a beautiful, tree-lined course on Greers Ferry Lake. I play the course twice a year on back-to-back days as part of a guy's weekend at the lake, and this was day one. I wasn't playing particularly well through the first seven holes, although I had hit a few good shots. I was debating which club I should hit when I got to the eighth hole, as 170 yards with my six iron was about my limit, but I decided to go with the full swing versus a knock-down five iron. I hit from the blue tees and the ball immediately started tracking for the flag. It stayed on the flag the entire way and landed in the center of the green. It released and rolled a little to the right about eight feet and dropped right into the cup. I yelled, "Did that go in?" My partners all responded yes it did. I couldn't believe it. I got up to the green and my heart was pounding. I looked into the cup and there it was. I pumped my fists a couple of times and collected my ball, which is now a trophy on a shelf in my office. An unbelievable feeling!
